Domestic Violence & Public Safety
The Stakes are High
Keeping our communities safe means more than just addressing crime—it means investing in people, prevention, and protection. As a State Representative, Raychel has taken decisive action to create safer neighborhoods and provide real support for survivors of domestic violence.

Delivering on Public Safety

As a member of the House Committee on Budget, Raychel worked in partnership with Senator Brian Williams (District 14 – St. Louis County) to secure $27 million in funding for a state-of-the-art police facility in St. Louis County (FY2024). This facility isn’t just bricks and mortar—it’s a symbol of modern, community-focused policing. It includes a child care center which will ensure officers and staff have the support they need.

Standing with Survivors

Raychel secured $1 million for the Kathy J. Weinman Shelter (FY 2025), the only temporary residential domestic violence center in St. Louis County. This critical funding ensures that survivors—and their children—have access to safe housing, essential services, and a path toward healing.

Youth-Focused Public Safety Reform

Public safety starts early. That’s why Raychel has filed and advanced legislation to establish a Juvenile Justice Task Force—focused on evidence-based solutions that reduce youth entry into the justice system and lower recidivism. This task force prioritizes prevention, opportunity, and rehabilitation, not punishment alone.

Gun Safety with Common Sense

Raychel a staunch supporter of common-sense gun laws that keep firearms out of the hands of dangerous individuals while protecting responsible gun ownership. She will continue to fight for laws that protect our schools, our neighborhoods, and our families.
Every dollar secured, every bill filed, and every step taken is grounded in one goal: making Missouri safer for everyone—especially the most vulnerable. She's not just talking about change—Raychel is delivering it. Let’s keep going!
