This is my ultra-cool, 77-year-old Granny, Mary Jane. Mary Jane lives in Missouri's 73rd House District. I LOVE Mary Jane; she's my Momma's momma (who also lives in 73rd). So when folks say of a candidate, "At least they aren't that other guy..." it rubs me the wrong way. "At least" may be good enough for their Granny, but it certainly ain't good enough for MINE.
I could dedicate the official announcement that I AM RUNNING FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE OF MISSOURI'S 73 DISTRICT to conspicuously bashing other potential candidates, highlight being a local public school union educator, and earned academic achievements- but this is not about me, them, or that; it is about the over 36,000 individuals who call Missouri's 73rd House District home. It is about asking my neighbors how I could leverage the experience I have to serve and meet some of our area's needs. It is about building community relationships, because after all, you cannot truly "represent" people you have not been around.
Neighbors, I humbly ask for your support and help in elevating our area, and moving it forward. We all realize there are some SERIOUS issues in our district and the state. Effective strides to solve our problems will take a consistent, all-hands-on-deck approach. Those seeking this seat must understand such an effort requires more dedication than just popping up during campaign season, then vanishing after election.
My family and neighbors shouldn't have to settle for "at least". My family and neighbors who are dedicated, invested, and rooted in this area DESERVE a candidate for whom they can proudly vote. Dear Neighbors, I humbly ask that you #VoteProud in 2018.
Sincerely for the 73rd,
Raychel C. Proudie
